I'd like you to meet Daphne Y. the very first artist to be featured in Stratford Studio's Student Spotlight.
Ten years ago, Daphne walked into my studio as a talented high school student with a desire to strengthen her portfolio and grow as a fine artist.
We began by focusing on charcoal to build strong drawing skills, and before long she discovered a passion for pastels—a medium she has truly mastered.
Even then, it was clear she had something special. Over the years, I've had the privilege of watching her talent, confidence, and artistic voice flourish.
Her fearless use of color, technical skill, and creative instincts continue to inspire everyone in the studio. It's especially rewarding to see students who have decades more life experience admire her work and learn from her confidence.
As an instructor, there are few things more gratifying than witnessing a student's journey from promise to accomplishment.
Daphne's dedication, curiosity, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to developing her own artistic vision have shaped her into the remarkable artist she is today.
